I ALSO WANT TO DO THE HIVE FORGIVE ME…
I'm bored, let's post stuff.
A tiger mother lost her cubs from premature labour. Shortly after she became depressed and her health declined, and she was diagnosed with depression. So they wrapped up piglets in tiger cloth, and gave them to the tiger. The tiger now loves these pigs and treats them like her babies.

tumblr it’s 2013 and there’s still no way to actually block people on your website in any real useful way
Um…you can block people successfully, even if they are anon. Just click “ignore”. it worked for me, anyway. Speaking of which, alientonxl, did you “ignore” me or something? You’re listed as someone that I follow. yet, you never show up on my dash…
How to properly break the 4th wall
this is my movie
NO SERIOUSLY THIS MOVIE WAS THE BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED
seriously, you should watch it
WHAT MOVIE IS IT?
robin hood, men it tights
it’s a mel brooks film, so it’s the same guy who did blazing saddles and spaceballs.
People practically every Mel Brooks movie breaks the fourth wall that’s the end of the movies half of the time and that’s why I love it so much, because Mel Brooks does whatever the heck he wants.
"Because unlike other Robin Hoods, I have an English accent."
I had this conversation with a spam sex bot earlier. At this point, she has not yet further responded to me. I thought she was my friend. But I guess if she can’t understand that the fate of the galaxy rests squarely on my shoulders, she was never my friend. It’s one of the tough lessons you have to learn. Maybe one day she’ll come around and understand. I will keep waiting for your friendship, Kiera Carter. Maybe one day. When the galaxy is safe again…
Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff Cosplay by hiddlestalker
this is the best cosplay ever omg
this is amazing. I could honestly see her as Natasha Romanoff when she was younger
I love this. Congrats hiddlestalker, you are now amazing
her hair absolutely fazes through her arm
but hey at least she looks hot
can /you/ do any better?
I mean god damn are you people seriously going to pick at every little thing DID YOU NOT SEE HOW FUCKING BEAUTIFUL THE BACKGROUND WAS? HOW WONDERFULLY ANIMATED THE ICE AND SNOW AND MAGIC WAS?
Not to mention how INCREDIBLE her voice sounds in this scene
But no, is all ruined because a cartoon had her hair phase through her arm
um hi as a professional 3d animator this is actually really really sloppy of them and everyone should be pointing this out
first and foremost all the backgrounds and particle effects are pretty and shiny and nice and all but it doesn’t mean anything if your character animation isn’t up to snuff because you know that’s kinda what people go to see the movie for
second there are dozens and dozens of levels of quality control in the disney studios - i’ve seen shit a thousand times less noticeable than this get people torn apart during dailies by their instructors or their superiors
lemme tell you something when i was in school one time i had spent two weeks working out a piece where a guy jumps out of a filing cabinet and there was a four frame segment where the tip of his foot collided with the edge of the cabinet as he turned around
my instructors spent almost a full half an hour drilling me on it in front of the entire class because i was too lazy to go back and fix it
so no these guys have literally no excuse whatsoever they have the best and brightest in the business and all the money in the world to back it there is absolutely no reason for that kind of supreme laziness
"but hey at least she looks hot"
I’m not a CGI animator, nor do i know the complexities that go into CGI, but I am a 2D animator, and i know that in 2D sometimes things are purposely cheated to fool the eye and still see a very specific fluid motion, even if it isn’t naturally correct, the point of animation is to fool the eye.
I think thats one issue I have with how realistic animation is getting, is being able to make things move more realistic the old fashioned eye trickery that made animation what it is -is being less focused on.
That said, sure this could easily be as sloppy mistake, But I think shaming a perfectly good movie for one small animation mistake during a showstopping musical number is a bit much, plus while on a roll of shaming this film for it’s mistakes
plenty of people seem blissfully unaware that beauty and the beast has PLENTY of blatant animation mistakes as well, and is still an amazing masterpiece of animation. Mistakes are in everything artwise if you look hard enough.
I just wish people could
"Let it Go!"
Okay all the commentary on this is really interesting and honestly I’m on both sides here but I just find it genuinely fascinating (and oddly comforting?) that even at Disney someone probably saw this and just decided “ahh fuck it”. This is a good discussion for the animation world to be having I think!
The point is this: Disney is the #1 most recognizable company in animation and the animation industry is a BUSINESS. The fact that people are talking about this mistake (and it is a mistake) means that this product that Disney has put out is getting bad publicity. The mistake isn’t art, it’s the result of over-worked employees and rushed deadlines. They weren’t able to finish their work because Disney had a goal to meet and put out whatever they had so they could make money, instead of releasing a polished truly finished movie.
It’s telling of how Disney views both its employees and its audience. As a company, no I do not like them.
In conclusion: “can you do any better?” Is a logical fallacy and irrelevant to this discussion. DISNEY can do better, so why don’t THEY?
Looking at the way this was staged though (the movement and the position of her body) it looks as if it’s an on-purpose cheat— one used to keep the flow of movement a specific way. (I’ve done the same for some of my 2-D animations)
If you watch the whole video, she starts out with more constrained movements, arms tighter against her body and more linear motions.
Once she gets here, she’s doing broad, curved, sweeping motions.
To have her pull her braid out along her hand in realistic fashion would require her to break those sweeping motions to pull the braid forward first, breaking the movement in this number (remember, it’s a musical number so the motions following the tone of the song and landing on the beats is what is going to be the most important factor here).
My guess is that they tried several takes until someone suggested that they stage Elsa so that when the braid passes through her body to get that nice flowing motion of her hand through her braid it’s BEHIND her, so it’s not inherently obvious.
You’re only going to see it if you either A) Have training and notice something seems off, B) are paying VERY close attention on a second/third time watching or have slowed the animation down (like above), C) Are lucky.
Also, let me say that I’m POSITIVE they wouldn’t have made this choice in any other scenario other than a musical number. Had it been a dialogue scene or just character action, she would have pulled her braid over her shoulder prior to running through.
Yeah, Disney probably could have chosen a number of actions or ways to stage it so that this particular “mistake” doesn’t occur, but I rather like the choice they made here. :\
god people are being dicks about this
I didn’t notice this animation goof at all while watching the movie.
In fact, after seeing people complain about it I sat and stared at the above gif about a hundred times, squinting at the movement of the bangs and the braid, to see what people were talking about…and only after doing that did I think I could make out what the nitpickers were pointing fingers at. Even then, it’s still so ‘blink or you’ll miss it’ that I honestly don’t get what the big deal is.
I’ve seen some pretty bad animation goofs over the years (not just the blink or you’ll miss it kinds, but really bad/blatantly obvious ones that deserve the criticisms), and have chuckled over many of them…I hardly think this one is worth complaining about though, especially when the only way you can even barely notice it (if you’re the average viewer like me-I’m not speaking for the animation students/professionals) is only after staring at it replaying for about 5 minutes straight.
I thought the scene was stunning, and that’s all that really matters in my book.
I still can’t see the “mistake”. :/ But I digress…this movie was really good and people need to stop bitching about this animation goof. Goofs happen all of the time. They should not detract from the final project.
